Rippling is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for its Fintech Platform, which builds global payroll and money-movement systems. The role focuses on designing and scaling backend systems for payroll calculations, payments, ledgers, reconciliation, treasury, risk, and compliance; building APIs and integrations; solving distributed-systems problems; and mentoring engineers. Candidates need strong backend engineering experience, distributed-systems expertise, and experience leading complex technical projects. The role is based in San Francisco, California, with an expectation of working in the office at least three days per week.
