Kira is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own core backend systems and infrastructure supporting student and teacher workflows. The role involves shipping end-to-end features, setting technical direction, improving engineering foundations, maintaining operational excellence, partnering with product teams, and providing technical leadership. It is a full-time position based in San Francisco or New York City, requiring in-person work four days per week and flexibility with work hours. The role requires extensive backend software engineering experience, production systems and cloud infrastructure experience, API and database expertise, and experience mentoring or managing junior and mid-level engineers.
