Roku is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Backend Performance team to build and operate large-scale distributed systems that ingest, process, and index multimedia content. The role involves microservices on Kubernetes, indexing pipelines using signal processing and machine learning, agentic AI and LLM integration, production tooling, observability, performance optimization, and on-call reliability. Candidates need 5+ years of production systems experience, systems programming expertise, cloud and containerization experience, and familiarity with AI frameworks and multimodal models. The role follows a Monday–Thursday office schedule with generally flexible Fridays.
