Tesco is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to design, build, and operate observability capabilities for its distributed retail deployment platform. The role covers metrics, logging, tracing, telemetry, monitoring pipelines, dashboards, alerting, SLIs and SLOs, operational analytics, automated detection, root-cause analysis, and observability standards across cloud and edge components. It requires at least six years of software engineering experience, strong Java and Spring skills, and familiarity with modern observability frameworks, event-driven systems, CI/CD, and automated testing. The position is based in or near Kraków, Poland, with a hybrid arrangement of 60% office collaboration and 40% remote work, and offers a gross monthly salary of 26,000–33,000 PLN.
