Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is hiring a Software Engineer C/C++ Sr. in Manassas, Virginia to modernize a large legacy codebase and its CI/CD pipeline. The role focuses on modular build improvements, validating end-to-end quality with stakeholders, resolving technical debt and system constraints, and leveraging existing shared CI/CD capabilities. The position is onsite full-time, requires a U.S. Government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, and seeks strong experience in modern C/C++, Linux, Git, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and software engineering best practices.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a comparable STEM discipline
Required Previous Experiences: Hands-on development experience with modern C/C++ and Linux command-line toolchains
Daily use of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Experience architecting and designing large, complex legacy software systems with Java, C, and/or C++
Experience with Automation and DevOps, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and release pipelines
Experience with SAST tools such as Fortify
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GitLab and varied CI/CD pipeline strategies
Background in architecting complex legacy systems
Microservices design and delivery experience
API design and integration experience
Familiarity with Artifactory or Nexus
Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodology experience
Cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Strong problem-solving and trade-off analysis skills
Experience supporting domestic programs at the Manassas site
