Apple is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to partner with engineering teams on understanding, modeling, and optimizing infrastructure demand across large-scale cloud services. The role focuses on application and systems expertise, capacity management, performance engineering, observability, resource utilization, demand forecasting, and infrastructure efficiency. Responsibilities include developing tooling and automation, establishing capacity-management methodologies, identifying efficiency opportunities, and collaborating across application, infrastructure, SRE, finance, and leadership teams. The position requires at least five years of software engineering experience, proficiency in a programming language such as Java, Python, or Go, strong distributed-systems and cloud-infrastructure knowledge, and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
