Description
Waymo is hiring a Backend Engineer for its Configurations team to design, implement, and maintain large-scale backend services that deliver configurations and features to a fleet of autonomous vehicles. The role also involves building commercialization tools, coordinating with Product, Operations, Data Science, and other teams, managing safe configuration rollouts, and supporting evaluation, A/B testing, and gradual feature rollouts. Candidates need at least five years of professional software engineering experience, three years of experience with large-scale distributed systems, strong cross-functional collaboration and documentation skills, and experience with system safety and reliability in a high-stakes environment. The expected base salary range is $175,000 to $215,000 USD.
