Description

Wayve is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Data and Orchestration team in London. The role focuses on building and evolving scalable data pipeline and orchestration infrastructure, including revamping the Harness system and developing a new DAG-based workflow platform. Responsibilities include data ingestion, processing, inference, evaluation, batch inference, performance optimisation, reliability, incident response, and supporting partner teams. The position requires 7+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python skills, distributed systems knowledge, database understanding, and familiarity with event streaming and large-scale data processing.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering or a related technical field
Experience designing, building and maintaining production-grade systems
Experience working with systems at scale, including distributed systems, large data volumes, or high-throughput processing
Familiarity with distributed event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
Understanding of database principles and consistency models
Familiarity with traditional databases or data warehouses such as Postgres, ClickHouse, or column-oriented databases
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in data engineering, data platforms, workflow orchestration, or pipeline infrastructure
Experience with machine learning infrastructure, inference systems, or ML performance optimisation
Exposure to large-scale batch processing, compute scheduling, or resource prioritisation
Experience with Ray, Flyte, or Spark
