Shield AI is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Linux Platform to own and evolve the Linux operating-system and software-delivery foundations for edge-compute hardware. The role focuses on NixOS, including system configuration, packaging, integration of application and hardware dependencies, reproducible builds, deployment, and operation. Responsibilities also include developing C++ systems software and platform tooling, integrating vendor BSPs and drivers, diagnosing cross-layer issues, improving reliability and security, and establishing reproducible engineering practices. Candidates should have strong Linux, embedded Linux or adjacent platform, C++, reproducible builds, packaging, CI/CD, and hardware-software integration experience.
