Description
Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of highly available distributed systems supporting GitHub's global developer ecosystem. The role owns complex backend services and platform capabilities, drives architecture and reliability improvements, builds automation, investigates production issues, and mentors engineers. Candidates need a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, at least seven years of professional software engineering experience, expert coding skills, and strong knowledge of distributed systems, databases, caching, messaging, observability, and cloud or platform infrastructure. Experience with public cloud, Kubernetes, high-throughput systems, and GitHub developer platforms is preferred.
