Rocket Lab Optical Systems is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II in Chantilly, Virginia, to design and develop flight software for spacecraft supporting the U.S. Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. The role covers requirements generation, software design, implementation, testing, deployment, and performance-oriented programming across size, weight, and power-constrained sensor systems, with a focus on novel algorithms and accelerator technologies. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, at least eight years of embedded software engineering experience, complex multithreaded application design experience, flight software design experience, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
