The Stepstone Group is hiring a Staff/Principal Data Platform Engineer to provide technical leadership for its Data Platform team. The role defines the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture across data, platform, and infrastructure domains; establishes engineering standards; improves code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and operational practices; guides teams through complex technical challenges; and mentors engineers while championing AI-assisted development and engineering automation. The position requires senior individual-contributor leadership experience, expertise in data platforms, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and technologies such as AWS, Terraform, Kafka/MSK, Airflow, Glue, Spark, and modern data ecosystems.
