Justworks is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Workforce Payments to own large-scale projects in the core computation layer powering payroll, money movement, and tax calculation products. The role focuses on improving system performance, reliability, and scalability; adding fault-tolerant processing capabilities; enhancing testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment infrastructure; securing sensitive data; and leading technical decision-making and mentorship. Candidates need at least seven years of professional hands-on experience, server-side programming expertise, SQL and cloud infrastructure skills, and experience supporting and mentoring engineers. The position is based in the New York City office and offers a hybrid work arrangement with a targeted base salary of $188,000 to $242,000 per year.
