Google is hiring a Software Engineer for its Android Backup Infrastructure team to build and improve the foundational backup infrastructure for Google Photos. The role involves writing and testing code, reviewing other engineers’ work, debugging and tracking product or system issues, contributing to documentation, and participating in technology design reviews. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, five years of Java or Kotlin programming experience, three years of Android application development experience, three years of software product testing, maintenance, or launch experience, and one year of software design and architecture experience. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, data structures and algorithms experience, large-scale systems experience, and technical leadership experience. The listed compensation is $174,000–$252,000 USD plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
