GitLab is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build autonomous, agentic software development lifecycle capabilities for its engineering teams. The role involves developing AI agents for tasks such as merge request authoring, test generation, and security remediation; collaborating with Product and AI and machine learning teams; writing and reviewing code; building orchestration and safety guardrails; evaluating performance and correctness; participating in on-call rotations; and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers. Candidates should have production software experience, AI or machine learning application experience, proficiency in Ruby, Go, or Python, distributed systems experience, and knowledge of testing, observability, and performance monitoring. The role is remote.
