Description
Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Applied Sciences Group to design, implement, integrate, debug, and maintain software across Android-based devices, embedded platform components, hardware abstraction layers, and native system services. The role focuses on device connectivity, wireless technologies, system protocols, hardware bring-up, diagnostics, verification tooling, and collaboration with hardware, firmware, security, cloud-service, and product engineering teams. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field plus at least four years of technical engineering experience with C, C++, or Python, or equivalent experience; additional experience with embedded systems, wireless protocols, and hardware diagnostics is preferred. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 119,800–234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
