The New York Independent System Operator is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Python-based tools for power-system simulation, data processing, visualization, API integration, testing, deployment, and monitoring. The role also involves requirements elicitation, DevOps pipeline optimization, cybersecurity compliance, technical documentation, vendor collaboration, and mentoring staff in AI-augmented programming. The position is based onsite in Rensselaer, New York several days per week, with remote work on remaining days, and requires at least three years of DevOps and Python experience.
