Description

ScienceLogic is hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on multi-process Python development for its Skylar One IT monitoring platform. The role involves accepting and refining requirements, building data collection and manipulation functionality, troubleshooting Python and MySQL performance issues, implementing features in Python, PHP, and MySQL, and maintaining unit tests. Candidates need a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, at least 8 years of Python software development experience, PHP experience, extensive Linux and MySQL experience, multi-threaded or multi-process software development experience, and knowledge of APIs, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 8+ years of software development experience in Python, including maintaining highly-scalable processes running in Python
Programming experience with PHP
6+ years using Linux
6+ years of MySQL experience, including views, stored functions, stored procedures, and query performance analysis
Experience developing multi-threaded or multi-process software
Basic working knowledge of SNMP, SOAP, and RESTful APIs
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, primarily using GitHub
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles from requirements through delivery
Preferred Qualifications: Experience reviewing AI-produced code and designs for accuracy
