Oportun is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable platform services and shared libraries that improve developer productivity, system reliability, and delivery velocity. The role involves backend systems and services, cloud platforms, continuous delivery, performance and reliability work, incident response, code and design reviews, and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. Candidates need 7–8 years of related software engineering experience, a bachelor's or equivalent master's degree, backend systems experience, proficiency in Java, C#, C++, or similar languages, and at least 3 years of container-based application experience and 4 years of cloud platform experience.
