Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Substrate App Platform team to design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications and supporting microservices for internal Microsoft teams. The role includes feature development, on-call incident response, technical guidance, and mentorship, with responsibilities spanning front-end, back-end, database, cloud infrastructure, APIs, testing, and reliability. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least four years of technical engineering experience; equivalent experience is also accepted. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, enterprise-scale software experience, modern front-end and back-end frameworks, microservices, AI/ML, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and graph databases. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 119,800–234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
