Description

The Senior Software Engineer — UI/UX & Front-End Engineering will design, develop, test, and maintain accessible, user-centered interfaces for complex enterprise applications using ASP.NET MVC 5, C#, JavaScript, SQL Server, and DevExpress. The role combines front-end engineering with UI/UX and accessibility work, including WCAG and ARIA compliance, assistive-technology testing, technical documentation, unit testing, and collaboration with business, UX, and technology stakeholders. It is a long-term remote assignment requiring 5–8+ years of professional software development experience, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 5–8+ years of professional software development experience focused on front-end/UI development
Experience implementing and testing web accessibility, including WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 compliance
Experience with C# and ASP.NET MVC 5
Experience developing and supporting full-stack .NET applications in a Windows environment
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, database design, data modeling, and T-SQL
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating front-end interfaces
Experience with unit testing and QA, usability testing, and release processes
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with DevExpress UI components and reporting tools
Formal training or certification in UX design, accessibility, or human-centered design
Experience with usability testing, accessibility audits, or design reviews
Familiarity with design and prototyping tools and translating designs into accessible front-end code
Experience with financial aid, student systems, or higher education data
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy .NET applications, particularly front-end layers
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and Git
Strong communication skills and ability to advocate for users and accessibility
