Description
The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain cloud backend systems supporting vehicle access software across Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies’ vehicle lineup. The role focuses on secure API and microservice integration with mobile devices and embedded systems, scalability, reliability, performance, and cybersecurity, while collaborating with product, cloud, embedded, mobile, and cybersecurity teams. Responsibilities include technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, troubleshooting, and maintaining architectural and API documentation. The position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, at least five years of software engineering experience focused on high-performance microservices, proficiency in Go, Python, or Java, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and Cloud HSM environments.
