Roku is hiring a Video Platform Engineer to build and scale the next-generation video services for its Cloud TV Platform. The role focuses on video ingestion, encoding, VoD/live-linear, server-side ad insertion, and video quality of service, while designing backend components, writing and reviewing code, evaluating architectural tradeoffs, and collaborating with product, commercial, and engineering stakeholders. The position requires strong Java, microservices, cloud, API, database, and streaming-domain expertise, along with a bachelor's degree in computer science and substantial professional experience. Roku generally supports office attendance Monday through Thursday with flexible Fridays.
