Justworks is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Workforce Payments to own large-scale projects in the core computation layer powering payroll, money movement, and tax calculation products. The role focuses on improving system performance, reliability, and scalability; adding fault-tolerant processing capabilities; enhancing testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment infrastructure; securing sensitive data; and leading technical decisions and mentorship. Candidates need at least seven years of professional hands-on experience, server-side programming expertise, SQL and cloud infrastructure skills, and experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with designers and product managers. The position is based in the New York City office and offers a hybrid work arrangement with a targeted base salary of $188,000 to $242,000 per year.
