Google is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead engineers across multiple teams and locations, manage a large product budget, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects. The role focuses on advanced machine learning with large language models, AI agents that understand screen content and user behavior, API and tool calling, on-device model optimization, and collaboration with GDM, Gemma Frontier, Gemini app, and Android framework teams. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, extensive programming and technical leadership experience, and experience with machine learning and LLMs. Compensation is $262,000–$364,000 USD plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
