SpaceX is hiring a Senior Space Lasers Engineer, Satellites (Starlink) to develop, design, validate, test, and operate free-space optical communication systems for Starlink satellites. The role covers optical architecture, requirements definition, environmental and reliability testing, field testing, anomaly investigation, link budgets, manufacturing and supply-chain coordination, and collaboration with software and automation teams. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or STEM discipline, at least two years of hands-on optics, photonics, laser, or precision mechanical experience, and at least one year of computer programming experience. The position offers a base salary of $135,000 to $195,000 per year and medical, vision, and dental coverage.
