Google is hiring a Senior Staff Engineer for Developer Intelligence to serve as the principal architectural authority across AI developer tools, autonomous agents, and Cloud infrastructure. The role owns multi-year technical roadmaps, distributed execution layers, agent communication standards, isolation primitives, performance standards, architecture reviews, and engineering standards across Google Cloud’s New York City and West Coast engineering organizations. Responsibilities include designing the end-to-end AI developer platform, mentoring engineers, and partnering with Principal and Distinguished Engineers across Vertex AI, DeepMind, and Cloud Security. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of software development experience, extensive experience leading technical project strategy and industry-scale machine learning infrastructure, and experience with software architecture and GenAI techniques. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, extensive data structures and algorithms experience, technical leadership, complex matrixed-organization experience, developer toolchain design, and VM/container sandboxing experience. The role offers a US salary of $262,000–$364,000 plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits, with potential work locations in Sunnyvale, Kirkland, New York, and Seattle.
