Zoox is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer for its Offline Driving Intelligence team to develop and validate deep learning models that predict road-user behavior and generate human-like driving plans. The role focuses on imitation learning, reinforcement learning, generative behavior models, plan-quality metrics, error analysis, and collaboration with perception, planning, simulation, and validation teams. Candidates need a PhD in computer science or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 7+ years of experience, along with experience in planning, prediction, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, generative modeling, transformer architectures, production machine learning pipelines, Python, and basic C++.
