Description

Apple is hiring an ML Platform Engineer to design and develop scalable machine learning infrastructure for model training, fine-tuning, and inference. The role partners with ML engineers, scientists, and other teams to build shared platform capabilities, define architectures, select technologies, and support scalable modeling and experimentation for Apple Ads. Candidates need experience with shared ML platforms, the ML lifecycle, deep learning architectures, TensorFlow or PyTorch, distributed training, and AI/ML tooling.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience building shared ML platforms, frameworks, or services used by multiple teams or organizations
Deep understanding of the ML lifecycle, including training pipelines, evaluation methodologies, and deployment patterns
Deep understanding of deep learning architectures and TensorFlow or PyTorch training frameworks
Prior experience applying machine learning at scale in advertising, recommender systems, information retrieval, or related domains
Prior experience in distributed training at scale and optimization techniques such as pruning, compression, quantization, and distillation
Prior experience building AI/ML tooling for model fine-tuning and training, or infrastructure at scale
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with privacy-preserving machine learning, including federated learning and differential privacy
Experience with LLM training and inference, including pre-training, supervised fine-tuning, verifiable reinforcement learning rewards, and inference
PhD, MS, or BS in Computer Science or a related field with 10+ years of industry experience building machine learning systems
