Nu is hiring a Systems Performance Engineer to lead deep-dive performance investigations and optimize a large JVM-based microservices architecture. The role focuses on reducing latency and infrastructure costs, tuning JVM garbage collection and memory management, building observability tools with eBPF, JFR, and Flamegraphs, aligning Linux kernel and JVM behavior, and resolving concurrency, lock contention, and memory-leak issues. The position is hybrid, requiring office attendance at least twice per week, and is available in Palo Alto, Miami, Washington DC, and Durham, United States.
