Description
Rocket Lab is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer II – Spacecraft Design in Long Beach, California, to lead the mechanical formulation of new satellite systems for civil, national security, and commercial opportunities. The role covers satellite bus configurations, structures, mechanisms, mass and mechanical budgets, requirements, trades, FEA and hand calculations, test planning and data analysis, CAD and production documentation, and mechanical systems engineering from conceptual design through production, test, and operation. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline, at least five years of aerospace engineering experience, satellite or spacecraft development experience, and CAD modeling and drawing experience; U.S. citizenship is required. The position offers a base salary of $132,000–$198,000 USD and total compensation of $165,000–$255,000 USD.
