31st Union is hiring a Senior Technical Director of Online Services to direct the live operation of its AAA free-to-play, cross-platform action game. Reporting to the Head of Technology, the role leads frontend engineering and manages Backend Engineering and Build Engineering teams while owning release management, launch readiness, live health, CI/CD, experimentation pipelines, telemetry, player safety, and online systems such as authentication, matchmaking, social features, and commerce. The position requires 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading AAA cross-platform live-service games, along with Unreal Engine and distributed backend expertise. The stated California pay range is $227,700 to $337,020 per year, with medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
