Shield AI is hiring a Senior Tool Design Engineer to own the full lifecycle of production tooling for complex aerospace systems, from concept through fabrication and prove-out. The role translates GD&T and critical characteristics into tooling requirements, designs assembly jigs, fixtures, molds, gauges, and handling equipment using CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks, performs FEA and hand calculations, manages tool fabrication and shop-floor activities, and supports first-article validation. Candidates need at least seven years of tooling, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering experience, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, and experience with prototype manufacturing in a startup or rapid-growth environment.
