Description
Ford is hiring a Vehicle Structures Engineer to design and architect vehicle body-in-white structures two to three years before production. The role owns a portion of the platform, coordinates with safety, manufacturing, NVH, UX, planning, cost, weight, and investment stakeholders, and develops stampings, roll-formed, and extruded components. Responsibilities include preparing BOMs, cost and weight documents, 3D package studies, attachment decision matrices, technical presentations, supplier design packages, and co-developing advanced materials, features, and technologies. The position requires a mechanical engineering or material science degree, at least five years of structures design and release engineering experience, advanced CAD and PLM experience, joining-technology experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. It is a hybrid role with possible onsite requirements and offers a salary range of $138,800 to $232,700, medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage, plus other benefits.
