Description

This entry-level Solid Waste field operation role performs routine and semiskilled manual work maintaining water canals, storm drainage, parks, sewers, streets, and related areas, while operating a broad range of equipment. Duties include picking up debris and recyclables, loading, compressing, screening, sorting, conveying, and dumping refuse, attaching and replacing refuse bins, and driving refuse trucks along collection routes. The position may require 24-hour rotational shifts, weekends, holidays, emergencies, on-call availability, and overtime. Applicants must have one year of experience operating light and medium-duty vehicles and a valid Class B California driver’s license or permit for the Solid Waste Division.
