Description
The Elevator Technician performs complex maintenance, servicing, repair, and troubleshooting of elevators, dumbwaiters, and wheelchair lifts. The role includes investigating electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems, conducting preventive maintenance and inspections, testing safety devices, evaluating equipment modifications, and performing related duties. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, an elevator technician degree or elevator mechanic license, at least three years of elevator experience, and knowledge of hand and electrical tools, electrical testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, and chain tackles. The position requires physical work in elevator shafts, pits, and other mechanical spaces, including climbing ladders and scaffolding, and may require on-call emergency work.
