Description
The Electrical Service Technician performs residential and commercial electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and new installations; completes service paperwork; maintains a safe and organized service truck; and works evening and weekend hours as well as an emergency on-call rotation. The role requires knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical principles, clear communication, customer and coworker relationship skills, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and appropriate hand tools. Applicants need either a certificate or degree from an accredited apprenticeship program with three years of experience, or a four-year degree in construction management or a related field. The work may involve hazardous chemicals and electrical currents, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and scaffolds, and working at heights above 30 feet.
