WD is hiring an early-career Servo Control Engineer to optimize and develop high-performance positioning controllers and real-time servo firmware for enterprise-class hard disk drives. The role involves designing robust servo systems, developing characterization and qualification tools, supporting failure analysis, improving reliability, and evaluating advanced technologies through simulation and prototyping. Candidates should be pursuing or recently completed a master’s or doctoral degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, have experience with servo-controller design for mechanical dynamic systems, and be familiar with feedback and feedforward design tradeoffs, MATLAB, and C/C++ coding.
