Description
Biffa is hiring a Shift Preservation Operator for its Materials Recycling Facility and Advanced Conversion Technology Gasification Plant at Sinfin in Derby. The fixed-term contract runs until 30 November 2026 and pays £21.01 per hour for 12-hour day and night shifts on a 4-on-4-off pattern. The role involves preserving plant and equipment, recording preservation activities, assisting with maintenance and intrusive inspections, monitoring safety and fire systems, managing access and contractor attendance, and handling out-of-hours incidents. Candidates need basic engineering and maintenance skills, industrial plant or EfW experience, computerised monitoring and reporting experience, shift-work willingness, self-motivation, and an understanding of industrial health and safety principles.
