Description
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk verifies and records incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, selects and assembles containers, affixes shipping labels, posts charges, and routes goods to departments. The role also examines shipments for damage or shortages, maintains shipping-supply inventory, and may direct others or perform specialized receiving or reshipping duties. It requires an associate's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field or equivalent experience, at least two years of shipping or logistics experience, knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes, and familiarity with freight carriers, customs documentation, Incoterms, and export compliance.
