Description
The role provides acute, chronic, emergency, and preventive care to residents of outlying villages under physician supervision. Responsibilities include patient assessment, physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, discharge planning, patient education, and care for medical, critically ill, trauma, mental health, maternal/neonatal, and pediatric populations. The position requires a master’s degree in a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program, Alaska midlevel licensure, NCCPA, PALS, Medivac, ACLS, and BLS credentials, a DEA number, and a current collaborating agreement with NSHC physicians. It involves moderate travel by large and small aircraft and other ground or water transport, with work in office and clinical environments.
