Description
The Sign Maker Apprentice is a non-career, term position in the Airports Authority’s Trades Apprentice Employment Program, serving at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport or Washington Dulles International Airport. The apprentice learns to fabricate informational, regulatory, traffic, and roadway signs and markings; uses sign-making equipment, software, and hand and power tools; assists journey-level Sign Makers; maintains work orders and preventive maintenance records; and drives a pickup truck to airport work sites. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, eligibility to work in the United States, a state driver’s license, the ability to work safely and communicate in English, and successful completion of a background investigation. Compensation is $18.34-$29.04, with the posting open from September 18, 2026 through October 3, 2026.
