Description

Microsoft is hiring a Silicon Verification Engineer for its AI Silicon Engineering SoC Design Verification team. The role creates and drives complex pre-silicon, post-silicon, and system-level verification environments and tests; develops verification plans, scoreboards, sequences, constraints, assertions, functional coverage, Makefiles, and scripts; and debugs simulation, emulation, and testbench failures. Candidates need a relevant doctorate with 3+ years of technical engineering experience, or a master's degree with 6+ years, or a bachelor's degree with 8+ years, or equivalent experience. The role requires security screening and export-control eligibility, and offers a typical U.S. base pay range of USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Doctorate, master's, or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with the corresponding years of technical engineering experience specified.
Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years of technical engineering experience for the doctorate path
6+ years of technical engineering experience for the master's degree path
8+ years of technical engineering experience for the bachelor's degree path

Preferred Qualifications: BS/MS in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering
9+ years of experience creating simulation environments, developing tests, and debugging silicon IP or systems
5+ years of industry experience in chip and/or computer architecture
5+ years of industry experience in Verilog, VHDL, C/C++, and scripting languages
Experience with CPU or graphics core verification
In-depth knowledge of verification principles, testbenches, stimulus generation, System Verilog, UVM, and coverage closure
Experience with hardware design for embedded systems
Firmware development with secure and non-secure boot flow
Experience with hardware emulation or FPGAs
Design experience or ability to write synthesizable code
Software development experience
