Description
The Skilled Craftsman performs construction, maintenance, and repair work across electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, welding, masonry, groundskeeping, and general labor in correctional facilities. The role includes completing repairs and projects, maintaining tools and materials, preparing work reports, assisting with contractor work, and supervising inmate workforce under close supervision. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, two years of building-trades experience or comparable vocational training, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to be on call. The position requires physical work in offices, warehouses, correctional facilities, and outdoors, including lifting up to 70 pounds.
