Description
Jump Start is a 12-week, in-person pre-apprenticeship training program in Tuscaloosa, Alabama that introduces participants aged 18–24 to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry skilled trades. The program includes classroom and practical instruction in measurements, blueprint reading, work ethics, hand and power tool safety, jobsite materials, and workplace safety. Participants pay $500 tuition, attend Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. starting September 21, and must complete in-person interviews and an aptitude assessment. Successful completers may be interviewed by participating contractors and may then enroll in an apprenticeship program.
