Description
The role combines customer service with technical supervision of data centre critical environment systems, including fuel systems, building management systems, chilled-water cooling plants, air-handling units, variable-frequency drives, fire alarm and suppression systems, and complex automatic control equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining 100% uptime, troubleshooting and recommending upgrades, coordinating with vendors and contractors, developing mechanical procedures, supervising technician training, and producing client reports. The position requires a mechanical engineering diploma or degree, at least three years of direct industry experience or eight years at the mechanical technician level with supervisory experience, and familiarity with data centre mechanical and control systems. It also requires availability for 24/7 emergency calls and willingness to work outside normal hours.
