Description
OPD is seeking Master of Social Work students for an unpaid Social Work Internship in public defense and criminal justice advocacy. Interns work with a staff social worker to identify alternatives to incarceration, prepare mitigation plans, divert clients to services, conduct clinical assessments, coordinate with medical and psychiatric providers, and manage supervised client caseloads. The internship includes direct client contact in jails, courts, and community settings, and is intended for the Spring 2027 session with a December 1, 2026 application deadline.
