Description
The Software Developer is a volunteer role responsible for designing, developing, deploying, testing, and maintaining software applications. Responsibilities include meeting with clients, coding and testing software, performing unit tests and code reviews, collaborating with a team leader, supporting the user community, writing technical documentation, and participating in project planning and conferences. The role requires software development and algorithm skills, user interface design ability, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to learn existing codebases quickly; a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience is preferred. The position requires 40 weekly hours and travel to the larger development team at least once per year and biannually to the Language Technology Conference.
