SLAC is hiring a Software Developer for its Experiment Control Systems Engineering and Design team to develop, maintain, and own Python and C/C++ applications and automation scripts that control complex scientific instrumentation. The role involves translating experimental requirements into reliable software, troubleshooting EPICS-based control systems, collaborating with scientists and engineers, contributing to open-source software, and improving engineering processes. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience, along with strong Python, PyQt, C/C++, Git, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
