AWS is hiring a Software Development Engineer to build, enhance, and operate Catographer, the intelligent control plane for its software-defined network at the internet edge. The role involves translating requirements into software designs, developing features and improvements, participating in architecture decisions, monitoring system health, and contributing to network traffic management at massive scale. The platform is built in Rust and must handle network state changes in milliseconds. Candidates need at least three years of professional software development experience, two years of design or architecture experience, and experience with at least one programming language; full software development life-cycle experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent are preferred.
